Sitting atop the highest point in the quarry, Casa Cometa is a thoughtfully built 3,000 sq. ft. architectural masterpiece tucked away just two hours from NYC in the serene town of Saugerties, NY.
Inspired to create a strong connection between the home and the nature around it, the property owner – who is also the architect for this home – knew instantly that he wanted to incorporate the rock into the design and build around it.
The entire home – from the materials used to the way elements of nature are integrated throughout – was developed with careful consideration of its impact on the environment. The property owner also used Fibonacci’s golden ratio to inform all the different proportions in the design of the home, resulting in not just a stunning property but also one where all the different spaces feel congruous.
BEST USE OF SPACE
Casa Cometa features a massive 14-acre lot that includes the home, an impromptu soccer field, a campsite with an airstream, and tons of natural outdoor space. The home itself features 4 bedrooms including a 2 story loft with kitchenette, 3 bathrooms and 1 powder room, and a large open area that connects the kitchen, dining room, and main living space.
Cometa’s wide open layout, floor-to-ceiling windows, and sun-drenched floor plan make it ideal for productions, corporate and private events, and showrooms. The space’s serene, rustic views and natural elements also make it perfect for offsite meetings.
Pricing Disclaimer
The prices shown are our minimum before qualifying your reservation. Additional fees may apply once we have a full understanding of your project, such as: total number of attendees, start and end time of your reservation, vehicles involved (production), the amount of EQ to load in/out, etc. We will provide a quick questionnaire and a full quote before you book the space.
Cleaning Fee
We clean the space before and after each booking to guarantee the space is immaculate for you. Cleaning fees for this space start at $250/1-day booking and vary depending on whether you are booking an event, an offsite meeting, production, or showroom; guest and/or crew size, equipment loading in/out, and more.
Don’t worry, the full cleaning fee will be clearly stated before you book the space.
Casa Manager Fee
One of our selected expert Casa Managers, Cocoon’s official on-site reps, will be on-site – but out of your way – at all times to overview your booking. As experts in that venue and trained in your rental type, they will be your main POC, welcome you in the space, help you load in and out, set up, and guide you through the space in case you need any assistance. Fees start at $375/1-day booking.

Casa Cometa FAQs
What's the venue address?
We will provide the location of the space once a space visit has been organized or the booking has been confirmed. Otherwise, we can provide the cross streets and neighborhood for reference.
Do you have central AC and heating?
The house operates on a geothermal heating and cooling system.
Can I leave behind trash & recycling?
Unfortunately, there is no trash & recycling pick-up at this location, so it must be taken with you. There is a local station that can accept trash & recycling within a certain timeframe and we can recommend instructions on how to get there.
Is there a TV or Projector onsite?
There is no television or projector on site, although we have one TV that we can make available upon previous request.
What footwear do you recommend for the outdoor terrain?
The view is spectacular, but the terrain is rough so we strongly recommend hard-soled shoes with traction while you’re outside and indoor shoes for inside.
Will I have access to the outdoor space?
Yes, you have access to the full outdoor space excluding the airstream on the property. The airstream is off limits.
Are there linens in your spaces available for my booking?
We do not normally stock linens in our spaces for use. However, our Concierge Team is happy to assist with renting linens for you that fits within your budget.
Do you have driving instructions to find the Casa?
Yes, we have the coordinates of the house that can be entered into a GPS, we have written instructions that we can provide, and we have a video tutorial of how to find the house from the main road.
Can we use the fireplaces?
Unfortunately, no – we do not allow the use of fireplaces in any of our spaces unless previously arranged with the Operations team.
Can you make the backyard photo-ready?
Yes, we can make the backyard photo-ready for a fee of $350. We do a regular maintenance of twigs and leaves, but if you need the backyard pristine, then we can arrange for a small fee.
Can I film on the grass in the outdoor area?
Unfortunately, we do not allow anyone to step on the grass on the rooftop. There are many living plants in that area and this would destroy them.
Will I have access to the outdoor space?
Yes, you will have access to the entire space. All areas are private and only accessible to you and your guests.
What’s included in the cleaning services listed on all reservation quotes?
We do a cleaning of the entire space before and after your event. This cleaning includes the floors, all surfaces, bathrooms, and all rooms accessible during your booking. This does not include dishes, laundry, or resetting furniture. At the end of the day, all cans, cups, food waste, and disposable items should be separated into their proper receptacles and our Cleaning Team will take care of the rest.
Do you have tables and chairs on site that I can use?
Many of our spaces have plenty of seating options for a wide range of guest counts. For spaces that don’t have chairs or tables available for your guest count, our Concierge Team will be able to provide quotes within your budget for rentals of additional chairs and tables.
